Wednesdays are the best day of the week for comics fans, because it’s the day of the week new comic books come out. But for comics fans in the metro area, there’s another reason to be excited about tomorrow: comics legends Jim Lee and Geoff Johns will be appearing via satellite to do an interview about their work on the New 52, the upcoming Batman Live! arena show debuting this fall, and DC news in general. Johns and Lee are currently the creative team behind one of the flagship titles of the New 52, Justice League; The first story arc follows the creation of the Justice League, and the first meetings of all the superheroes as they must team up to face Darkseid.

Jim Lee is probably the most important artist in comics over the last 25 years; his collaboration with seminal X-Men scribe Chris Claremont on the X-Men in the early 1990’s helped make Lee one of the most popular and sought-after artists in graphic literature. In fact, X-Men #1, published in 1992, is still the best-selling single issue of all time. In addition to Claremont, Lee has worked with comics luminaries such as Brian Azzarello, Jeph Loeb, and Frank Miller. As if that wasn’t enough, Lee was one of the founders of Image Comics, which published creator-owned titles, and led to a revolution in the comics industry.

Geoff Johns, on the other hand, has been a highly prolific writer over the course of his career, having written extensively for characters The Flash, the Green Lantern, and Superman (including working on Action Comics  in 2006 with the director of the first two Superman films, Richard Donner). Johns was responsible for the recent returns of both Barry Allen and Hal Jordan to the mainstream DC continuity, as well as penning the massive Green Lantern crossover events The Sinestro Corps Wars, Blackest Night, and Brightest Day.

Make sure to tune in to KSBI-TV 52 before you head to to your local comic book store tomorrow morning, where Lee and Johns will be appearing at 9:50 a.m.
